What’s in your box? #6 Coin I recently shared of the opportunity I had in 2019 to go on a 2-week trip with a few other leaders from the U.S. to the Middle East. From that trip I will highlight my next item, a Jordanian coin called a half dinar. One dinar is about $1.50 US, so this would be valued at 75cents. While some of the countries we were in took the American dollar, we also had to exchange currency a few times, leaving me with a few unique coins. The reason why this Jordanian coin is in my box, because it reminds me that there is always an exchange and a translation that must occur to make an impact cross-culturally. There must be a change in mindset, expectation, and in this case, in currency. This coin reminds me of this adjustment. It also helps me remember that, in coaching, there is an exchange of value and investment. I offer 3-month professional coaching partnerships to intercultural workers. As a coach, I come alongside your leadership to promote a life-posture of leaning forward into cross-cultural contexts with clarity, confidence, and consistency.
