What's in your box? #4: kayak

What’s in your box? #4 kayak || Our next focus will be looking at the kayak as we explore more of what’s in my box-- items that hold great significance as a lean forward in my life and leadership particularly in terms of connecting cross-culturally. I’ve had some experiences kayaking on a steady river. To me, the kayak means that my target for my daily life is to follow an “unhurried flow of purpose.” This is my definition for productivity (something, by the way, that I discovered and crafted in a conversation with my leadership coach). There may be unexpected bends, delays, and rushing rapids, but my focus remains the same: to be in the flow of my purpose. Cross-cultural coaching is in the flow of my purpose. I like to see myself kayaking through my week, that’s why I have this visual in my box. Oh, and the “building toy” kayaker reminds me that what I have to offer through coaching may be someone else’s missing piece--the possibility that our partnership could provide a solution that will help them move forward. What’s in your box? A coaching conversation is a great environment to explore what’s important to you and why.
